South African Museums Association

The South African Museums Association has been in existence since 1937 and has a proud tradition of serving the museum community and providing opportunities for participation and development in the museum field. SAMA also plays a crucial role in the preservation and management of heritage resources in South Africa. SAMA membership is therefore vital for the personal growth of individual members, the improvement of museum standards within member institutions, and empowerment of the heritage sector as a whole in South Africa.
